HITSA online conference: adapting to studying from home

On March 25, a HITSA webinar and online conference discussion group were held, where different parties could discuss the success of home school days and share their experiences. In a virtual conference speech chaired by President Kersti Kaljulaid the participants Marika Anissimov, a mathematics teacher at Viljandi Gymnasium, Joosep Michels, a student at Lihula Gymnasium, Ingrid Maadvere, a GAG educational technologist, and Triin Lumi, a parent, shared their experience of the first days of studying at home. The conference took the form of a hybrid conference and the discussion was moderated by Lehari Kaustel.

Besides, the methods of moving forward were discussed. Do and what kind of support do the teacher and the student need? It was discussed what school action plans could be and what teaching methodologies technology can use? Representatives from the Ministry of Education and Research, HITSA, Innoves, psychologist Kadri Järv-Mändoja, director of Järveküla school Mare Räis.
